During the era before BRIN (BB), research fund in various research institutions both under the ministerial and ministerial agencies had been given in an amount refer to the previous budget and grow with inflation. Another common sense of growing follows the rule “If you finish up you annual budget, that means you are a good planner and you need the amount given. If you safe some and return it to the government, it means you don’t need the amount you proposed in the previous year; hence your coming budget plan will be deducted for the coming year.”
In the era after BRIN (AB), researchers need to form a group and write proposal(s) to conduct a research for the coming year. The proposal is written according to Call for Proposal issued as early as November and mostly announced in December. The proposal need to account for the “Rumah Program” theme that already assigned for one or several subjects with expected outputs. So a researcher is not free with his ideas, curiosities, or trends that the researchers has observed.
If you failed for the one or two proposals you have written, you possibly will be unoccupied for the coming year. Or in my own words: “I’m free to do anything I like for the full one year to come”. The only condition in the AB era is to write one scientific, peer reviewed international article in a Q1 or Q2 scientific journal. I am one of the person AB that has been failed for two proposals for each year term of both 2023 and 2024 research.
I’m writing this article to announce my past proposals (in its original language) in the hope that you will pledge for my research either in the form of donation, pay the portion of it, or in full. I know this is the kind of research funding that in some corner of the world is one purposive means that is different from my situation AB. I also know that I will just write a scientific article with nothing, even though I will just accept the AB situation if cannot fulfill the task.

Mangrove forest shifts at peri-urban area in relation to land subsidence and extreme climate events: a case study of Sayung district, Demak, Indonesia
This time I write in English because I know English speaking cultures cares more on research than the Indonesian one.
